NINE MILE METALS RECEIVES FULL GRANT AND INITIATES NINE MILE BROOK VMS PROJECT BULK SAMPLE ANALYSIS
VANCOUVER, B.C. Friday December 2, 2022 – NINE MILE METALS LTD. (CSE: NINE, OTCQB: VMSXF, FSE: KQ9) (the “Company” or “Nine Mile”) is pleased to announce it has received a full grant for its bulk sample metallurgical analysis being conducted by RPC Science & Engineering (“RPC”), Fredericton, New Brunswick. This grant was provided by The National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (“NRC-IRAP”). The objectives of this analytical program are to improve and define the recovery opportunities for the VMS mineralization of the upcoming 2000-3000 Tonne bulk sample at the Nine Mile Brook VMS Lens project. Phase 1 of the program analysis conducted by RPC will focus on 2 elements: Mineralogy and Liberation size, the latter best defined utilizing Scanning Electron Microscopy (“SEM”) to classify the grain sizes an example of which is shown in Figure 1 below. Nine Mile Metals has already shipped NQ core samples from Holes NM220003-NM220006 previously drilled in the Phase 1 at Nine Mile Brook in May 2022. (See summary certified assay results in chart below). These ¼ core samples are representative of the 4 holes drilled into the High-Grade VMS Lens and total approximately 100kg. Cruickshank, MBA, CEO & Director stated, “we are honoured to receive a full grant from NRC-IRAP for this stage of our bulk sample analysis. We are equally grateful for the assistance and expertise we have received from RPC Science & Engineering in Fredericton, NB. Their expert analysis is invaluable for our advanced stage bulk sample and potential future production definitions, based on the Lens Ore characteristics. Having the highest grade mineralogy in the BMC is exceptional, but determining the commercial process to match that Ore is challenging, but a welcome challenge. This analysis is critical for our project moving forward and we look forward to updating additional news in the coming weeks.” Each sample will be crushed to -1” homogenized and split into sub samples for head assay, characterization, and predictive mineralogy. Head assays including Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag, S, Fe, multielement ICP and Au Fire Assay will be carried out on one of the sub-samples from each of the ore types. A polished thin section like that in Figure 1, will be produced from representative sub-samples of each of the ore types respectively. This allows for both the initial identification of the individual ore bearing minerals in addition to their relationships with each other. Each section will be examined and analyzed at the University of New Brunswick’s (“UNB”) SEM Laboratory Microscopy and Microanalysis Facility in Fredericton to determine predictive mineralogy including micron size (liberation estimate), mineral identification of each metal (sulphides, non-sulphides, gangue minerals) and Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag-Au occurrence (attached, liberated, included, interstitial etc.). The laboratory at UNB is equipped to conduct a variety of imaging techniques and ideally suited for the work being conducted by RPC. Once the analysis is completed and the characteristics of this incredibly high-grade ore have been established, optimum recovery methods will be recommended including: direct shipping, ore sorting, smelter or environmentally friendly bioleaching. The NRC-IRAP has a Contribution to Organization (“CtO”) agreement providing short-term scientific or technical assistance to Canadian, for profit, small to medium size enterprises (“SMEs”) in the mining sector. The Mining Sector Team (“MST”) is part of the CtO mentioned above. The CtO program helps build and integrate innovative capacity in Canada and encourages investment in research and development activities that have clear commercialization goals. NRC-IRAP provides funding to SMEs for technical assistance performed. “In addition to developing a conceptual process flowsheet for the recovery of Cu, Pb and Zn concentrates, the work by RPC will also provide valuable information on the chemistry and mineralogy of this unique VMS occurrence,” stated Gary Lohman, B.Sc., P.Geo., VP Exploration and Director. Pb mineralization was more discreet, locally visible as small bands. The mineralized zone is open in both directions along strike and depth. Samples of the VMS mineralization and adjacent rock have been shipped to the ALS Global Labs (“ALS”) for Certification. Note: Due to time constraints between the California Lake drill program and the initiation of the Nine Mile Brook VMS drill program, XRF analysis was only conducted on the zones of visible VMS mineralization. The complete mineralized zone has been sent to ALS for analysis and we will announce those complete results once received. All holes have been logged, photographed, measured and cut. Holes 8-9-10-11-12-13 are currently in the XRF process and we look forward to reporting additional results, including summarized full widths. X-ray fluorescence (“XRF”) is a non-destructive analytical technique used to determine the elemental composition of materials such as drill core. XRF analyzers determine the chemistry of a sample by measuring the fluorescent (or secondary) X-ray emitted from a sample when it is excited by a primary X-ray source. It should be noted that the results only provide an indication of the amount of Cu, Pb and Zn present. Certified assaying of the core samples is still required to accurately determine the amount of base metal and precious metal mineralization (Copper-Lead-Zinc-Silver and Gold). The California Lake Group has historically been a prolific zone for Silver and is typically associated with Pb / Zn sulfides. The Arsenic values (As) in the previous charts is an important pathfinder element for the presence of gold. Figure 1 – Core Samples for XRF Analysis Holes CL-22-06 & CL-22-07 Patrick J Cruickshank, MBA, CEO & Director stated, “We are pleased to report these initial XRF results on our first (2) VMS Target Holes in our initial California Lake drill program. We set out to see if our process would identify a VMS mineralization based on just re-processed magnetics from legacy surveys and applied algorithms. In this initial program the shallow, upper portion of the system was targeted, the results justifying more advanced exploration including high-definition UAV (Drone) magnetics, ground based E.M. and I.P. surveying and 3D – AI analysis. We look forward to the next exploration phase which will focus on the entire 1.5 km target structure including the depth extension. To date, the grades identified in these finger zones are consistently well above the BMC average. To hit the three (3) Au target zones and 7 out of 8 VMS target holes on an early-stage pre-exploration program and these types of grades are further proof of our unique proprietary cutting-edge technology process. We look forward to releasing our complete results.” Drill Holes 6 and 7 were the first holes of the program to intersect visible Cu, Pb, Zn +/- Ag, Au mineralization along the 1.5-kilometer geophysical target identified by EarthEx Geophysical Solutions Inc. The target zone is structural, well foliated, and where mineralized, is approximately 10 meters in width and includes multiple sections of VMS mineralization of varying widths. The host rocks are primarily sediments with local bands of volcanics. Mineralization is typical of the Bathurst Mining Camp with sections consisting of 95%+ sulphides including pyrite, sphalerite (Zn) and galena (Pb), the latter two visible in drill core as disseminations and bands respectively. “The first drill holes at California Lake were successful, confirming the regional electromagnetic anomaly has associated mineralization. To date, only a small portion of the anomaly has been tested by drilling. Next steps included detailed UAV drome magnetics and ground-based Time Domain Electromagnetics to define and model priority targets prior to drilling“, stated Gary Lohman, B.Sc., P. Geo., Director. Figure 2 – Drill Collar Locations The Pb, Zn mineralization suggests that initial deposition occurred along the flanks of a VMS system where Pb / Zn is typically dominant. Subsequent shearing and structural activity have dislocated the mineralization however the dense sulphides remain intact with generally hard contacts with the surrounding sediments. Individual widths within the 10-meter section can be greater than 2 meters. Pyrite mineralization is also present within the sediments.
NINE MILE METALS COMPLETES SUCCESSFUL PHASE 1 DRILL PROGRAM AT ITS CALIFORNIA LAKE PROJECT, (BMC) NB
Figure 1 – Drill Collar Locations VANCOUVER, B.C. – NINE MILE METALS LTD. (CSE: NINE, OTCQB: VMSXF, FSE: KQ9) (the “Company” or “Nine Mile”) is pleased to announce that it has completed its initial stage 1 drill program at its California Lake VMS Project. The initial program comprised of 1,226 meters of diamond drilling in 13 holes on its California Lake VMS Project in the Bathurst Mining Camp, New Brunswick (“BMC”). There were 2 initial orientation holes, 3 holes targeting a new gold target 400m north along the prospective VMS trend, and 8 holes were collared to intersect VMS mineralization along a 1.5-kilometer, late time conductance electromagnetic anomaly defined by EarthEx Geophysical Solutions Inc. (“EarthEx”). To date, 7 drill holes core has been measured, logged, photographed and cut with 59 samples forwarded to ALS Global Laboratories Ltd. in Moncton, NB, for “RUSH” ore grade base and precious metal Lab Certified assay analysis. Patrick J. Cruickshank, MBA, CEO and Director stated, “We couldn’t be more excited for the future of our California Lake VMS Project. This early-stage 1st pass drill program was based on an initial re-processing of public MegaTEM datasets by our technical partner EarthEX and overlaying late time conductive responses utilized by their algorithms analysis and further cements our unique leading edge exploration processes works in the BMC. The success of our technology driven phase 1 drill program justifies the advanced investment in our model for California Lake. To have VMS results in 7 of the 8 VMS Target holes in a shallow program is exceptional. We will now model our results in 3D and design a UAV Drone & IP-EM surface grid exploration program for 2023. We look forward to analyzing the entire 1.5km long VMS anomaly and testing this area at depth once advanced metrics are received.” With an extensive geophysical anomaly defined, the initial 2 drill holes, CL2201 – CL2202, were collared as orientation holes (depth 116m and 107m respectively) to confirm the geologic units and associated structure. Drilled approximately due west perpendicular to the anomaly, the geological units were confirmed along with a controlling structural feature. Drill holes CL2203 – CL2205 (depth 160m, 50m and 119m) were collared approximately 400 meters to the north targeting the same anomaly and an associated feature identified immediately west. Targeting gold mineralization, the drill holes intersected disseminated sulphides in addition to locally extensive silicification and brecciation indicative of potential mineralization. Samples have been submitted for Fire Assay Gold analysis. Figure 2 – DDH – CL2203 -CL2205 (New Gold Target). Cut samples sent to ALS Global Laboratories for Fire-Assay Au. Drill holes CL2206 and CL2207 (depth 89m and 90m) were collared approximately 75 meters northeast of the orientation holes and drilled to the west, perpendicular to the geophysical anomaly. Collared approximately 15meters apart, both holes intersected visual VMS mineralization at a depth of approximately 40 – 50 meters. From the same drill pads, holes CL2208 – CL2210 (depth 89m, 104m and 80m) were then drilled at oblique angles to the trend to expand the mineralized footprint, with holes CL2208 and CL2210 intersecting visual VMS mineralization. Drill hole CL2211 (depth 80m) was collared approximately 20 meters north of CL2206 and drilled to the west, again intersecting visual VMS mineralization. Drill holes CL2212 and CL2213 (depth 62m and 80m) were collared approximately 75 meters west of CL2206 and drilled at from west to east to test the west side of the anomaly. Drilled from the same collar, the holes had a dip of– 45 and -55 degrees respectively. Numerous zones of visual VMS mineralization were intersected in both drill holes at depths of 50 – 60 meters. “The phase 1 drill program at California Lake was successful, intersecting visual VMS mineralization (Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag and Au) in 7 of the 8 collared VMS targeted holes and potential Au mineralization in the 3 new EarthEX target holes, along strike to the north. We look forward to completing the logging and both XRF and certified laboratory analysis. The assay results will be reported when processed and received,” stated Gary Lohman, B.Sc., P. Geo., Director. NINE MILE METALS DRILLS VMS (CU-PB-ZN-AG-AU) ON ITS CALIFORNIA LAKE PROJECT, NB
VANCOUVER, B.C. – NINE MILE METALS LTD. (CSE: NINE, OTCQB: VMSXF, FSE: KQ9) (the “Company” or “Nine Mile”) is pleased to announce it has drilled and confirmed a VMS system at its inaugural California Lake Project drill program, in the world-famous Bathurst Mining Camp in New Brunswick. Two orientation drill holes were collared at California Lake to intersect the geophysical trend defined by the late time conductance in the reprocessed MegaTEM data as defined by EarthEx Geophysical Solutions Inc. (“EarthEx”). The holes also confirmed both the geological sequence and structure that is known to host the mineralization. Having established a base model, an 89-meter hole was drilled due west at a dip of -45 degrees intersecting sulphides between 43.00 and 57.00 meters, including numerous zones of massive Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag, Au bearing, BMC style, VMS mineralization as displayed in the four photos below. NINE MILE METALS UAV DRONE SURVEY DISCOVERS (3) MASSIVE VMS SOURCE TARGETS AND (2) NEW SPRUCE LAKE FORMATION TARGET SYSTEMS
VANCOUVER B.C. – Thursday October 6, 2022. NINE MILE METALS LTD. (CSE: NINE, OTCQB: VMSXF, FSE: KQ9) (the “Company” or “Nine Mile”) announces its 1,000-line Kms UAV Magnetics Drone Survey has discovered three (3) massive VMS source targets, two (2) additional new Spruce Lake formation VMS target systems and a host of additional high priority lens targets. Nine Mile Metals has already filed for the necessary drill permits to include in our Stage 2 drill program, which is to begin in the coming weeks. The 3 VMS source targets will allow Nine Mile to ensure the prudent allocation of funds and to further ensure drilling is conducted at the highest priority targets. Figure 1: UAV Drone Survey Processed Results – Total Magnetic Intensity The results from the UAV drone magnetic survey identified three (3) massive VMS source systems, and all are a folded nose trend with a Hinge as identified in Figure 1 in white: as Hinges A, B and C. The folded nose trends are depicted in white in Figure 1 (above), while the Hinge targets are depicted in black polygons adjacent to the folded nose. In addition, the drone survey has uncovered and defined two (2) new Spruce Lake formation target systems identified as D and E (Figure 1). These five (5) targets are aligned with the northern and southern contacts in the geological mapping previously reported. Patrick J Cruickshank, MBA – CEO & Director stated “it is just incredible that this technology has filtered and removed a lot of the conductive noise in previous magnetic survey images. The similarities to the Brunswick #12 is spectacular; size, surface footprint, Hinge and plunging strong magnetic body extension, but to uncover (2) additional separate Spruce Lake Formation Contact Systems is outstanding. The definition of the images also shows potential footprints of additional Lenses in the magnetic low area of the Boucher Brook Sediments. This exploration model continues to evolve and develop into something quite exciting. We have confirmed none of these Hinge targets have been previously drilled and look forward to testing these exceptional targets in the upcoming drill program later this month. All Hinge targets in the BMC are High Priority Targets and possible sources for our Lens. We will be updating with UAV 3D subsurface modeling geophysics and drill program targeting.” Nine Mile Brook VMS Hinge Target A Brunswick #12 Deposit (Hinge and Surface Footprint) Figure 2:- Comparison Magnetics (Nine Mile Brook VMS Target Hinge A and Brunswick #12 Deposit and Extension) “The work by EarthEx Geophysical Solutions has been exceptional, the results revealing many high priority “untested” targets in multiple systems, the Boucher Brook and the Spruce Lake Formation respectively. With (3) Hinges now identified, numerous subtle, magnetic highs defined, (possible additional Lens’) we expect to discover additional mineralization within the Boucher Brook system and the California Lake Formation, the most prolific host formation to the VMS event in the BMC” stated Gary Lohman, P. Geo., Director and V.P. Exploration. In figure 3 (below) you can see the previously announced 1000-line kms UAV drone grid over the lens area VMS targets while figures 2 and 3 show the High-Definition UAV Drone proprietary processed output. Figure 3: 1,000-line kms UAV drone grid Technical Details Hinge target A is located 400m – 500m east of the VMS lens. This fits the traditional Hinge VMS model of the Bathurst Mining Camp (“BMC”), the best example being the Giant Brunswick #12. This target also has a plunging magnetic signature due north similar to the Brunswick #12 Extension. Additional similarities include a 400-500m surface footprint with a plunging extension within a folded environment. The total length is also similar (approximately 1km). Figure 2 shows the surface trace of the Brunswick #12 mineralization (black) within a folded Hinge on the flanks of a linear magnetic high. Hinge target B, located southwest of the VMS lens, is a second folded nose and plunging magnetic body to the east towards the VMS lens. Host rocks at Hinge B include both iron formation and felsic volcanics, both characteristic units associated with the BMC VMS model including the Brunswick #12. Hinge target C is located north of Hinge B, the magnetics revealing a folded structure with strong magnetics on the east limb. In addition to the Hinge targets, the drone survey also identified five (5) very subtle magnetic highs (1 – 5) within a magnetic low identical to the magnetic signature of the VMS lens (depicted as the yellow star in Figure 1). These targets all lie within the same Boucher Brook sediments that host the discovered Lens. Results of the borehole electromagnetic (“BHEM”) survey have also been received and integrated, the results confirming the presence of a strong magnetic body east of the VMS lens, on the boundary of the survey. The elevated magnetics associated with Hinge B target were not detected since they are well outside of the 200-meter search radius of the drill hole. From our previous Stage 1 drill program, DDH #7, was a very important technical success. The purpose of the drill hole was to intersect the Rhyolite Cap and confirm a number of VMS model characteristics. For the BMC model, there must be massive sulphides in the cap which was confirmed in the drill core. The presence of copper stringers in the sediments below the VMS lens, along with black chlorite healing fractures in BHEM drill hole #1 and sericitized felsic volcanics confirms that the Footwall Feeder System – is present. NINE MILE METALS ANNOUNCES DRILL PROGRAM AT ITS CALIFORNIA LAKE VMS PROJECT
VANCOUVER, B.C. Tuesday September 20th,2022 – NINE MILE METALS LTD. (CSE: NINE, OTCQB: VMSXF, FSE: KQ9) (the “Company” or “Nine Mile”) announces it has filed for drill permits with the NB Department of Energy and Mines (“NB DEM”) for its initial phase 1 drill program at its California Lake VMS Project in the world-famous Bathurst Mining Camp, New Brunswick, Canada (“BMC”). Nine Mile has received its re-processing analysis and identified the high priority targets at California Lake. The initial drill program is slated for up to 2,000 meters, utilizing the Lantech Drilling Company track-mount drill rigs due on site in October. Figure 1: California Lake VMS Project High Priority Targets Identified over Magnetic-Conductive Analysis Figure 2: California-Spruce Lake VMS (N-NE) Trend, Stage 1 Drilling The Stage 1 drill program will focus on the Project’s eastern section, the California Lake VMS Trend, where EarthEX Geophysical Solution’s (“EarthEX”) industry leading data re-processing analysis has identified high-priority conductors. Numerous drill holes are planned to test the volcanic sediment contact where both favorable VMS mineralization and alteration, including chlorite and sericite, were identified in outcrop. The proprietary analysis has identified the subtle targets that have traditionally been successfully drilled and become economic deposits. Preliminary processing of legacy data by EarthEX has already identified high-priority conductors at California Lake coincident with favorable geologic markers. Figure 3: California Lake VMS Project Geology The California Lake VMS Project covers a large stratigraphic section of the highly prospective Spruce Lake Formation which hosts numerous VMS deposits in the Bathurst Mining Camp, including the Caribou Mine to the north. Along the California Lake VMS Trend, there are 3 VMS occurrences including California Lake 32 South, California Lake 68 South and California Lake – Murray Brook respectively. Mineralization consists of both disseminated and stringer sulphides, in addition to tabular massive sulphides previously identified. At California Lake 32 South, fine grained sulphides occur along the contact of the felsic volcanics (hangingwall ) and metasediments. Mineralization consists of a Cu rich base grading upwards to a Pb / Zn rich zone. Iron formation, a key component in many of the BMC VMS deposits, was also identified in the zone. The VMS potential of the California Lake Formation Group is well known; however, this portion of the BMC has been poorly explored in comparison to the northern section, which hosts the Caribou Mine, Restigouche and the Murray Brook Deposits. “This portion of the California Group Formation has been under explored as is the Nine Mile Brook VMS Project area. There is limited outcrop, and the geology is complex, but new technology and 3D modeling with data re-processing utilizing proprietary algorithms has unlocked the potential for numerous new discoveries in the most prospective geological formation in the BMC. The California Lake VMS Project is a high priority for the Company, and we look forward to unlocking the value to the Company’s portfolio with the results of our 1st drill program on the California Lake VMS Project”, stated Patrick J. Cruickshank, MBA, CEO & Director. NINE MILE METALS FILES DRILL PERMITS FOR ITS 5,000M STAGE 2 DRILL PROGRAM AND COMPLETES 1,000M LINE KMS UAV MAGNETIC SURVEY
Vancouver, B.C. Thursday, September 15, 2022 – NINE MILE METALS LTD. (CSE: NINE, OTCQB: VMSXF, FSE: KQ9) (the “Company” or “Nine Mile”) announces that the company has filed the necessary drill permits with the New Brunswick Department of Energy & Mines Branch (“NB DEM”) for its previously announced 5,000m stage 2 drill program at its Nine Mile Brook VMS Project in the world famous Bathurst Mining Camp (BMC), NB, Canada. Figure 1: EarthEX Completed UAV Drone Survey Grid (Yellow) over Priority EM Targets As displayed in Figure 1 above, our geophysical exploration process has identified high priority drill targets (white dots) over the late time strong conductive targets (1-5). Nine Mile Metals has secured two (2) track mount drill rigs from Lantech Drilling in Dieppe, NB. This is the same drilling partner from our highly successful stage 1 lens area drill program. We will utilize two (2) 12-hour drill crews per drill rig, producing a 24hr drill program field team on both rigs. By executing two (2) drill rigs concurrently, we will achieve our exploration program goals quicker, more cost effective and allow our assays to be submitted to the Certified Lab much sooner. “The work program at Nine Mile Brook is progressing as planned, the integration of data continues to define Priority Targets on the western flank of the Brunswick #12. We look forward to expanding the footprint of the Lens Area mineralization with Stage 2 drilling, while also discovering additional VMS bodies at depth within the Priority Target Areas defined by EarthEx”, stated G. Lohman, B.Sc., P.Geo., Director, and VP of Exploration. Figure 2: Lens Drill Area – Stage 2 Targets , Nine Mile Brook VMS. In addition, EarthEX Geophysical Solutions (“EarthEX”) has completed the 1,000 line/kms UAV 3D High Definition Magnetic Survey grid, utilizing its proprietary drone technology and processing algorithms at the closest spacing available of (25m). EarthEX will process all raw data utilizing its advanced proprietary algorithms and integrate it into our evolving 3D exploration model. The goal is to incorporate the High-Definition Magnetics and integrate our EM and physical properties analysis along with drill core log data and define the Stage 2 drill targets on both the larger property scale and the continued exploration program at the Nine Mile Brook Lens area. EarthEX has defined all geological structures and subsurface bodies for integration into our 3D Exploration Model. There are confirmed structures for the mineralized folding and source of the Lens break. Our technical team is negotiating with RPC Science & Engineering, Fredericton, NB for Mineral Processing Analysis of the Lens 1 core samples, in its evaluation for a 3,000 Tonne bulk sample. Nine Mile Metals has received the process instructions from the NB DEM for the bulk sampling. NB DEM permits have also been applied for and received for ground based Induced Polarization (I.P.) and Time Domain Electromagnetic (TDEM) surveys over Priority Target Areas 1,2, 3 and 5 (Figure 1). Eastern Geophysics has been secured and scheduled for the surveys prior to initiating the drill program in October. The core analysis conducted by EarthEx’s physical properties lab in Selkirk, MB, has identified a unique characteristic to our VMS lens digital signature. In addition to a high conductivity response compared to the high-grade Lead-Zinc component in the core, the Copper-Gold mineralization has an unusually high chargeability signature not common to VMS deposits. Eastern Geophysics, under the direction of EarthEX, will conduct a ground-based IP Survey over the Stage 2 Lens Area in addition to the standard EM Survey. The chargeability response from additional mineralized Lens’ should be identified by a positive response in both the IP and EM signatures. EarthEX has previously used this technique with outstanding success in the BMC. Patrick J Cruickshank, MBA, CEO & Director stated “we are aggressively executing our disciplined exploration program in our determination to locate the additional VMS Lens bodies for the Nine Mile Brook discovery with cutting edge technology that has shown very positive results to date. The introduction of both IP and EM identification is a breakthrough to locating the next Lens in the sequence of this deposit. Having identified a hard break of the Lens, the next component should continue the High-Grade mineralization, and display the same digital signature that EarthEX’s core physical analysis identified. We look forward to our next update.” The disclosure of technical information in this news release has been prepared in accordance with Canadian regulatory requirements as set out in National Instrument 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects (“NI 43-101”) and reviewed and approved by Gary Lohman, B.Sc., P.
