Breaking Ground: March Drill Program Highlights & The Road Ahead

Dear Nine Mile Metals Community,

Spring’s knocking, and with March in the rearview, I’m keen to chat about the strides we’ve made and the trails we’re blazing into April.

Wedge VMS Project Update:

We wrapped up our Phase 1 Drill Program at the Wedge Mine Project, drilling nine holes for a total of 1729 meters. It’s been a lot of hard work, but thanks to our VPX Gary Lohman and our incredible crew, we’ve made great progress. Now, we begin the more time consuming portion of the drill program, which involves catching up to the drill rig! Our crew is prioritizing the completion of logging, interpreting, cutting, photographing, and selecting samples to ship. Once the samples are with ALS Global in Moncton, we will receive assay results as they’re processed. Currently, we’ve received results back from Drill Hole WD-24-02, and they’re looking promising. You can check them out here: WD-24-02 Assay Results. We’re eagerly awaiting  the rest of the results, and will share them as they’re received.

I know we all love hearing from Gary, so I’d like to share some of his words of wisdom from our latest release: “Drill Hole WD-24-02 demonstrates that significant copper mineralization over substantial widths remain at the historic Wedge mine site to the east and southeast of the previous workings. Subsequent to the start of the 2024 drill program, the Cominco drill data was acquired and is presently being digitized to facilitate 3D modeling. We look forward to merging the 2024 drill data when assaying is complete with the historical information in order to best plan a stage 2 program at the Wedge.”

PDAC 2024:

We were grateful to spend several days in Toronto at the start of the month for PDAC. It was a week well spent, connecting with folks from the industry and sharing the Nine Mile story. Big thanks to PDAC for organizing, and to everyone we connected with over the week. Check out a chat I had with CEO.ca about what’s on the horizon for us: Advancing 4 Projects in the World-Famous Bathurst Mining Camp

Looking Forward:

As we step into April, we’re all eyes on the assay results from the Wedge and getting started with the 3D modeling of the property courtesy of the recently acquired Cominco data. It’s a bit of a waiting game, but it’s all part of the journey.

In moments like these, I’m reminded of Robert Frost’s words, “The best way out is always through.” It’s a bit how we approach our work here – head on and with determination. Every step, every bit of data, gets us closer to understanding what we have and how best to move forward.

We appreciate your support and are glad to share this journey with you all.
